Zircon is possibly the oldest known mineral on earth. The oldest known Zircon samples are more than 4.4 billion years old when Earth is considered formed 4.56 billion years ago. Zircon can be said a tremendously important mineral.
Zircon is a remarkably dense material, 50% denser than diamond. The name Zircon comes from the Persian word "zargun", which means "gold-coloured" although the mineral has a variety of colours. The colourless variety of zircon has been the most popular kind, as it is the most similar looking stone to diamond because of its brilliance and dispersion, but should not be confused with Cubic Zirconia which is laboratory grown imitation diamond.
Zircon is known to be a great grounding stone that inspires, motivates and gives guidance when is needed, thus a great stone to help to achieve one's goal. It has also been reported it can help its wearer sleep, to increase confidence, inspire compassion and self-love.
Our collection of Zircon is dedicated to the Greek goddess Rhea, the mother of all (Olympian) gods. Rhea’s name comes from word means “ground” or “earth”, with Zircon being one of the oldest mineral almost as old as Earth, their relationships is rather fitting. Rhea is often associated with mythology of saving infant Zeus from being swallowed by his father like all his siblings, and was instrumental to guide Zeus to overthrow his father Cronus. Rhea is a mother who learned to overthrow oppression that eventually will save her children and freed herself.
